Greetings

I might put together some favourites for the end of the year, but here are a few odds and ends. Two jobs for the Christmas issue including a nice dps;I've also been working on a commission for a Christmas present recently. It was nice to work bigger than normal, at about 55 x 45cm. Although I did the drawings for it in June (there's a not very good photo of the sketch copies taped together, left), I didn't begin painting bits until about September.

I thought I'd also post two jobs from earlier in the year that were killed halfway through (for editorial reasons unrelated to me). It shows the progress that nobody would normally see. (..who said for good reason?!)

Merry Christmas.

Class (or lack of)

For Prescott's documentary exploring class, what else but to make him a croquet playing chav?

Following a gripe about the parody of a product, I've blurred the gag in point.

James or Daniel.

I've read most of the books so have been looking forward to the film. Amazing suit he wears in it. (Not the one in the reference I drew from)

South Bank Show

For Bragg does Bond. The film is a good excuse to re-post the dunny I painted onto the cover of Varoom the other year.

Coincidentally I painted iminent bond girl Gemma Arterton a few weeks ago too, when she starred in a BBC adaptation of Tess of the D'Urbervilles.

Robert Preston's Credit Crunch ®

The world might be down the crapper, but someone's in the hay. BBC Business Editor Robert Peston, the face of the credit crisis it seems, is always at the ready, stare- eyed and tensely eyebrowed, with a "Well, Hugh.." explaining what's gone down the plughole that day. His stock is rising at least. A lucrative endorsement on supermarket budget ranges and the Christmas number one can only be round the corner..

Coming Soon..

Book that plane ticket, saddle your mule..

Some of my work will be included in an exhibition of caricatures as part of the Shrewsbury Cartoon Festival. 'Art about Face' features subjects from the Arts (I'm showing Macca, Dylan and Picasso) and is at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, 20th March -26th April. I'd advise checking that before departing on the mule, though.

Anyone whose mule might not survive the journey could purchase signed prints directly from myself.

Further exhibition news to follow.
